Yes, I met Sarah Jessica Parker when she was filming some scenes for a movie at Brooklyn College when I was a student there in 2005.  She's really short.

Everybody has shit in their lives.  I forget that sometimes.  As I told some people at the Bryant Park meetup the reason I only got up 20k at most in the past 4 nano tries was because I wanted my characters to be happy.  My life has really, really sucked at some points and I just didn't want to inflict suckitude on my characters... So they went about their everyday lives for 20k words and then I ran out of things for them to do because I didn't have anything bad happen to them.  They didn't want for anything so they didn't want anything, period.

So my idea for this years nano is: 16 year old boy starts hearing a voice in his head that tell him he was chosen to create a utopia.   He tells people and is promptly diagnosed with schizophrenia.  Now I have spent enough time among the mentally ill (being diagnosed with clinical depression and requiring treatment) to write his life from there.

Or I can go with the hunky dory bit I originally thought of wherein he undergoes a more thorough diagnostic exam is discovered to be sane and is therefore hailed as a prophet and sets about trying to setup this utopia.

Or I can go with the even fluffier story idea that's been floating through my head about a world with a pantheon of gods: and these two god beings are parents to a child god and they give him a small community to be god over and he completely screws up and the community instead of praying to him like they're supposed to they complain to his parents.

If you could go back and fix your most regrettable decision, what would it be, and what would you do differently?

Or:

Pirates or Ninjas?

What I regret most is my first semester of college.  I was expecting it to be like high school but the clases were much harder and I couldn't keep up with the work.  Of the five classes I took I either dropped out of or failed all of them.  If I could go back I'd either choose different classes, enroll only part time, or take full advantage of the tutoring center.

What have you tried in life that you just weren't very good at?

learning languages.  I tried French in junior high, American Sign Language in high school, and Hebrew in college but none of them stuck.  The only language I'm fluent in is English, my native language.

You crash your friend's car because you're driving too fast in bad weather. Everyone's okay, but the car has to go into the shop. Do you pay the deductible?

I  am participating in 2008 NaNoWriYe using this journal.  I'm going for 200k for the year.

I didn't win NaNoWrMo.  I got a little past 5000 words in the first week and gave up.  I feel like a poser.  I have been writing regularly though.  I have a creative writing group on Tuesdays and we have 15 minutes to write based on a prompt.  I manage about 225 words handwritten.  Afterwards, wew all read aloud what we wrote.  There are about 10 people in the group and that takes up the remaining half hour.

Annoying Dream

So I'm dreaming that I'm writing.  Everything's going well; I've got about 3 pages written in a spiral notebook.  Then I wake up and it's all gone.  Argh!  I remember bits and pieces.  I borrowed characters from various tv shows without it being a real fanfic type thing... I've got the woman with Asperger's from Boston Legal and an ambulance driver named Bruce that I borrowed from the Doctor Who tv movie - not the Master, the guy he possessed. I've also got a woman named Traci... and that's it.  There was a lot more; I'm pretty sure there was going to be a romace plot... but I don't have details.  :headdesk: This is the second time that happened. Grr...
